Event rules

Version 30 October 2026

Also in Bahasa Melayu

These rules apply to every MCG tournament on 8 November 2026 in Melaka. Each tournament's page adds its own rules (format, match length, game settings); where they differ, the tournament's rules apply.

Officials

The tournament director runs each tournament, with referees and check-in staff. Follow their instructions at the venue. The director decides anything these rules don't cover.

Eligibility

Every player needs their own Cyber ID and must be at least 13 on the day.

A tournament may set more conditions, shown on its page.

Registration and teams

Register in the app before registration closes. A team's lineup locks at the time shown on the tournament page; after that, changes need the tournament director.

A player can be in one team's playing lineup per game. You can enter more than one game only if their times don't overlap.

Check-in

Check in at the MCG desk during your tournament's check-in time, shown on its page. Show your Cyber ID and your MyKad (no other ID is accepted): staff look at it and give it back, they don't copy it.

Check-in stays open 10 minutes after its time ends. A team with fewer checked-in players than it needs after that loses its first match by walkover.

Matches

Be at your station when your match is called, with your game account ready to sign in. A player or team not there 10 minutes after being called forfeits that match.

Play on your own game account. Use only what the tournament allows (devices, settings, accessories).

Conduct

No cheating, hacks, exploits, match fixing or playing for someone else. Respect other players, staff, the audience and the venue. Officials may stop a match to check a device or an account.

Results and disputes

Results are recorded by MCG officials. Raise a problem with your referee straight after the match, before the next one starts. The tournament director's decision on a dispute is final.

If the app is down, officials keep results on paper, and those records count.

Penalties

Breaking these rules can lead to a warning, a lost game or match, disqualification, or a ban from future MCG tournaments, depending on how serious it is. Every penalty is recorded with its reason.

Changes on the day

Schedules can move on the day. Announcements in the app and at the venue come first, so check them before your matches.

Language

These rules are given in English and Bahasa Melayu. If the two texts differ, the English text prevails.
